The LWE kicks off its 40th anniversary season with Alfred Reed’s A Festive Overture, a flashback to 40 years ago! The second half will be “all shook up” with guest Michael St. Angel, the “Windy City Elvis,” singing all of your favorite classics by Elvis Presley.

Celebrate Christmas with the LWE, Tom Zalaski, and the Children’s Choir with a traditional Christmas first half and a second half filled with favorites from Christmas movies including The Polar Express, Frozen, A Charlie Brown Christmas, and more!

The Lakeshore Wind Ensemble and Lakeshore Big Band are “gonna go back in time” for this concert! The time circuits are set to the 1980s. Upon our arrival, you’ll be treated to the sounds of popular music, movie soundtracks, and music performed at early Lakeshore Wind Ensemble performances. Make sure your flux capacitor is fluxing as you get your shoulder pads, neon colors, and big hair ready for this afternoon of flashback fun! Capture your memories in the 80’s themed photo booth!
Lakeshore Wind Ensemble, The Winds of March – Honor and Remember Saturday, March 2, 2024, 7:30 pm
The wind ensemble welcomes back a special vocalist to the Capitol stage, Emily Kosloski, Los Angeles-based singer, and television actress. We will honor past band members and this year’s Wesley Teply Community Service Award in the Arts recipient. The LWE will also remember past foreign tours to Japan with music given as a gift from our sister city, Kamogawa, Japan: Super Mario Bros., the fantasy film My Neighbor Totoro, and the Radetsky March.
Lakeshore Big Band, 40 Years of Swingin’ Favorites Friday, April 5, 2024, 7:30 pm
We polled our band members on their fondest memories of 40 years of performing with us and put together an evening filled with surprises!
Lakeshore Wind Ensemble, An American Salute, The Greatest Generation Saturday, May 4, 2024, 7:30 pm
While saluting our nation, special focus will be on World War II veterans and the music of their era. Repertoire will include Aaron Copland’s Fanfare for the Common Man, big band era selections, and music from the John Williams film scores Saving Private Ryan and 1941.
