Slippery When Wet—The Ultimate Bon Jovi Tribute was formed in 2003 by Jason Morey after receiving numerous inquiries, “Are you Jon Bon Jovi?” One noteworthy incident involved comedian Dave Chappelle, who invited Jason backstage after one of his comedy shows, mistaking him for the New Jersey icon. At that moment, Jason realized he needed to capitalize on his resemblance to Bon Jovi.
Slippery When Wet – The Ultimate Bon Jovi Tribute has carefully replicated the live arrangements from Bon Jovi’s Crush tour in 2000, the Bounce tour in 2002, the Have a Nice Day tour in 2005, the Lost Highway tour in 2008, and The Circle tour in 2010. Jason describes this tribute as an “Arena-Club Show,” believing that Slippery When Wet can transform a 1000-seat venue to feel like a 20,000-seat arena for two and a half hours.
Slippery When Wet has performed over 2,100 shows across the U.S. and has traveled to various countries, including Africa, Mexico, Singapore, Puerto Rico, Honduras, Qatar, Kuwait, Jordan, Anguilla, Spain, and the Dominican Republic. The band has headlined over 60 cruises for the Royal Caribbean cruise line and played at the pre-game event for Super Bowl XLVIII in East Rutherford, NJ. Their performances are the most attended and highest-grossing of any Bon Jovi tribute band in the country.
- In 2018, Jason Morey was chosen to perform as their only impersonator of Jon Bon Jovi in the Legends in Concert show in Las Vegas.
- In 2019, Slippery When Wet was handpicked to perform on both Runaway to Paradise cruises with Jon Bon Jovi.
