The LWE will open the season with music from The Lord of the Rings. Medleys from all three movies will be performed as well as Johan de Meij's 1988 award-winning symphony inspired by the Tolkien book series.
Welcome to our 41st Anniversary Season! Last season, our organization celebrated 40 years of music in the Manitowoc community! We are back for another exciting season, and are proud to present seven magical evenings of musical entertainment. Our talented musicians are committed to presenting you with a variety of repertoire at the highest level, with everything from jazz classics to patriotic works, solo features, film music, and holiday favorites. A hilarious satirical take on Westerns, featuring Cleavon Little and Gene Wilder.
Join us for an eclectic mix of electric songs from the early days of synthesized music including Tommy Forsey Big Band's T.D's Boogie Woogie; Electric Light Orchestra's, Mr. Blue Sky; the disco version of Beethoven's Fifth; and more modern music from Journey, Van Halen, and Muse. Vocalists include Kim Hoffman, Rachel Ziolkowski, Sam Oswald, Maddie Woller and Manitowoc area high school choirs. We are really "charged up" for this concert!

The LWE will feature the winners of this season's LWEA Young Artist Competition and the finest wind band literature, including John Williams' Summon the Heroes and Percy Grainger's Children's March.
The beloved literary classic comes to life in this sweet, charming production. Join Pooh and all your favorite characters from Hundred Acre Wood as they find themselves in the playful predicaments first imagined by writer A.A. Milne in 1926. Christopher Robin, Owl, Eeyore, and more bring this classic work to life in a performance geared for Grade 1.
This exciting and motivating production geared for Grade 5 will deliver piratical fun while introducing simple concepts outlined in the Next Generation Science Standards. Historically, seafarers have pushed science and technology forward, and who better to captivate and expand children’s horizons than the swaggering stuff of Pirate School? Subjects include simple machines, air pressure/lift, math = navigation, aerodynamics of a cannonball, and things that go “boom!”
World Famous clarinet/saxophone virtuoso Kevin Van Ess and members of his band THE TALK OF THE TOWN join Paul and the LBB with a program of Dixieland and Mardi Gras favorites such as South Rampart Street Parade, Night Train, and When the Saints Go Marching In!

Delivery drivers with Amazon, Fed Ex, and UPS unite in this hilarious parody of The King of Queens, featuring music from the 1980s.
Jack has grown an enormous beanstalk, scaled to the top, and stolen a golden harp and gold-laying goose from the sleeping giant. However, the giant has awoken and has caught up to Jack who is forced to find ways to divert the giant’s attention and avoid becoming his afternoon snack. With every story Jack spins, the giant becomes more dissatisfied, but Jack is determined in this production suitable for Grade 3.
Guest: Dr. Justin Krueger. The season will conclude with a salute to all things Wisconsin! Guest pianist Dr. Justin Krueger, Vice President of the Wisconsin Music Teachers Association will be performing the now 100-year old Rhapsody in Blue by George Gershwin. Works by Wisconsin composers will be featured, including LWE's own Brian Van Ells.
