Lakeshore Wind Ensemble and Lakeshore Big Band

“Beginning a New Musical Adventure,” 2022-2023 39th Concert Season


The Lakeshore Wind Ensemble and Lakeshore Big Band invite you to join us as we “Begin a New Musical Adventure,” welcoming Jeremiah Eis as our new Lakeshore Wind Ensemble Conductor and Music Director. The Lakeshore Wind Ensemble and Lakeshore Big Band are made up of volunteer musicians; we are your friends and neighbors and can’t wait to begin this new musical journey with you.

Paul Sucherman, LBB Conductor & Music Director, has another engaging season planned for the big band with toe-tapping music and of course a few laughs! Chris Woller, Assistant LWE Conductor, directs both bands for a joint concert in January playing popular music from the Big Band era to today.

The second half will make you want to pull out your lederhosen or dirndl! It’s Oktoberfest season at the CCC with German and Czech classics!

The Winds of March concert will feature the winners of the Young Artist Competition, and the recipient of the 2023 Wesley Teply Community Service Award will be named. The LWE will perform the cornerstone work, Of Sailors and Whales, depicting scenes from Herman Melville’s classic novel, Moby Dick, complete with narration.

From Ella Fitzgerald to Etta James and Aretha Franklin to Peggy Lee; join us as we celebrate iconic female singers from over the years with “A-Tisket, A-Tasket,” “At Last,” “Respect” and more! You don’t want to miss special guest vocalist Erin Krebs with her sultry combination of jazz and bebop scat, belting out the blues. In 2016, Jazziz Magazine wrote that Erin Krebs “may be a best-kept secret of her native Wisconsin.” It seems the word is out, as this dynamic performer is well on her way to becoming one of Wisconsin’s premier and most treasured vocalists. Her performances exude confidence and a passion for life that audiences instantly recognize as genuine and heartfelt. Recently, Erin was awarded the WAMI (Wisconsin Area Music Industry) Female Vocalist of the Year for 2019 and in 2018!

The LWE will conclude their 2022-2023 season with a musical tribute to our country, our state, our veterans, and our freedom! Featured music will include patriotic favorites, the world premiere of a composition by Manitowoc’s-own Joey O’Connor, Irving Berlin songs, and John Williams selections from six Star Wars films!
